This is a space for sincere ratings. Don't post:

• Spam: bot ratings, fake accounts, ratings posted faster than humanly possible.
• Inappropriate content: anything you wouldn't show a barista. Photos must be of drinks or cafes, not of people without consent.
• Misleading uploads: stock photos, AI-generated drinks, or images from another cafe. Tag the wrong drink and we'll quietly remove it.
• Off-topic: your political takes about milk subsidies belong on a different website.

Your aggregate score is the average of your enabled categories. We don't weight, hide, or auction off ratings.

• Rate the cup you actually drank, on the day you drank it.
• If a cafe changes hands, your old ratings stay attributed to the prior owner. Verified cafes can request a soft reset once per ownership change.
• Removing a rating you wrote is fine. Mass-removing ratings to harm a cafe's score is not.

EXIF metadata (location, device) is stripped on upload. We keep your photos at the resolution you submit and don't sell them.

For avatars, you can use a pixel character, a stylized DiceBear avatar, or a real photo. If you choose a real photo, it must be of you. Photos of other people, brand logos used as your face, or NSFW imagery will be removed.

Tap the Report control on any photo, rating, or profile to flag it. Our team reviews reports against the rules above. Most are handled within 24 hours.

We try to err on the side of leaving things up: a snarky review of a chain isn't a violation. A pile-on against a single barista is.

Bean credits are earned for posting ratings, getting verified, and leveling up. They aren't currency: you can't buy them, sell them, or transfer them between accounts.

Items in the store are cosmetic. Limited-edition items show their remaining-supply count on the store card; once they're out, they're out.

When a cafe is added, we cross-check it against our places provider (Traverra). If it matches, the cafe is listed immediately. If it doesn't match, the submission goes to a small admin queue for a human to confirm before it appears to other users.

The Community Verified badge (the only verification badge shown publicly) is awarded automatically once three different medrinky users have rated the cafe. Admin approval alone does not earn the badge; it just confirms the cafe is real enough to list.

medrinky has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse material (CSAM) or any content sexualizing minors. We act on every report immediately and report confirmed material to NCMEC's CyberTipline per U.S. federal law (18 U.S.C. § 2258A).

You can close your account at any time from Settings → Account. You're signed out and your profile is hidden. You stop appearing in search and on other profiles, and your reviews stay on the cafes you rated but show “deleted user” instead of your name. We retain your account data so the account can be reopened on request. To have your personal data permanently erased instead, reach us through the contact form.
